The cross-cut shear is used to shear the head and tail of strip steel. It is set before shearing butt welding. When the head and tail shapes of strip steel are irregular, the cross-cut shear shall be used to reduce the subsequent butt joint time.
After arrival of strip steel, two pinch rolls installed on the side of inlet are used for positioning, and then the strip steel stops at the shear position. After shear, the upper shear blade retreats upward and strip steel passes. The sheared strip head and tail drop onto the waste carriage below.
